once told me that she heard(in her mind) Connie calling out for her and she obey the instinct to pack her bag and leave for Maidstone immediately. She arrived just as my mother started labour – assessed the situation-dismissed the midwife and call Dr Barclay. The baby, a boy, was born alive, but as it was a home birth-which was usual in those days, there was nothing in the way of intensive care treatment and while Doctor was working with my mother, the little boy lay at the foot of the bed and kicked a little less with each kick. After about an hour he was no more. It was classified as a miscarriage and he was not registered and was buried in the garden near the lake.
